FINANCE SECTOR TASK FORCE TO PROTECT WORKERS FROM WORST OF RECESSION - PURVIS

Commenting on the creation of 500 jobs by insurance company esure, Liberal Democrat Finance spokesperson Jeremy Purvis MSP said:

"This is welcome news in a week when unemployment has risen to it's highest level in over a decade.

"Thanks to the Liberal Democrats, the Scottish Government has committed to creating the Finance Sector Task Force as part of a series of measures to promote long term economic stability.

"Working proactively with the finance sector, Scottish business and Government bodies, the Task Force will protect workers from the worst of the recession and help create jobs so we can welcome more announcements like this one today."
