When I was much younger than I am now, I had the benefit of attending the outdoor education centre at Ardentinny, not once, but twice. These were experiences that genuinely helped shape the person I chose to become. It was character building, inclusive, and focused on team building and cooperation. There were kids I'd known at school for years, but had never met outside the classroom or the playground. As a child, it opens your eyes to how other people live, what their priorities are, and how ultimately we all share more in common than we have as differences.
I think in this magnificent country of ours we can introduce kids safely to the outdoors, and prepare them for a life of countryside responsibility and adventure.
